Before the container arrives

Count roof squares and layers, and tell the hauler whether wood decking, insulation, or other tear-out will join the shingles. Weight terms can change with the material.
Clear the driveway and loading route before delivery. Keep cars, ladders, tools, and loose roofing material out of the container's drop area.
Ask the hauler about boards under the rails to protect the driveway or asphalt. Keep the container clear of low branches and overhead lines.
Spread shingles across the floor instead of building a high mound. Add felt and light scraps in the gaps, and stop when the load reaches the top rail.
Keep paint, solvents, fuel, tires, batteries, propane, and refrigerant equipment out. Arrange pickup after the last sweep, and ask early about extra days if weather changes the schedule.
